Extremely rude staff. Customer service is paramount especially when you’re food/bakery items are mediocre.
Friendly staff and good ambience.
Good coffee, excellent pastry and breakfast. Very welcoming and good service. Try the banana bread cake.
Literally the most expensive worst chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Also don't ask if they have ice cream
Best cheesecake ever :D
My wife and I enjoyed breakfast here before touring San Juan Island. This is an iconic building on the Friday Harbor waterfront and delicious food as well! We both had different breakfast burritos; the food was prepared quickly and with fresh ingredients. But the views are amazing, even if you are just enjoying a cup of coffee. Great little place to enjoy some good food, but five stars for the location and views!
This is a tourist island so perhaps they know you're going to stop by regardless. In a place like this you often only get one opportunity to make an impression. Let me start by saying the staff I interacted with were good. Pleasant friendly and fun. The lattes were very good. If that's all I went in for the rating would be doubled. The problem is I had breakfast. I've spent the better part of a week here. Eaten every meal out, visited likely 10 restaurants. The breakfast here was the worst I've had on the island. Dry apple muffin, bacon so badly burnt it was almost unrecognizable. Potatoes that looked like little rocks, the eggs were tolerable. If you want coffee, stop in and grab one. If my breakfast experience is typical, have breakfast elsewhere
I wanted to take a picture of the key lime cheese cake and the cute short bread cookies but one bite and poof gone!! Best cheese cake I have ever had and the kids loved the tulip and shamrock cookies they reported that it was the best frosting Ever!!🍪😍
Food was good here totally get some cheese cake. I would have gave 5 stars but when I went there were only 4 cheesecakes to choose from. I expected a couple more for a place with cheesecake in their name. But I can say they were excellent and the staff super friendly. I am up to the challenge to go back and try more when they have them. The view is amazing as its on (literally) the water.
Lots of $4 treats. Banana bread was awesome (a little dry till the middle). Blackberry Italian soda was perfect. Maple cream cheese that comes with french toast was AMAZING. Cheesecake looked awesome.
Friendly staff and several varieties of cheese cake make this a great place to visit when in Friday Harbor.
Absolutely delicious! Great portions and good price. My girlfriend and I got danishes which were perfect!!! And i ordered the loco moco(bring your appetite). The view is a plus!
Had a delicious experience here at the Cheesecake Cafe and Bakery. Came in greeted with smiles and a hello. Ordered a huge banana bread smothered with frosting. My husband ordered chicken strips and I ordered the fish and chips. Delicious all throughout. Thank you, Great experience today and very pleasant staff.
Good coffee and excellent pastries and breakfast. Service was great. Loved this place.
Amazing pledge with lots of goodies. We left with a whole cheesecake to share! The NY style cheesecake was delicious. The view, location and access is priceless! We will be back.
Great waterfront location, decent coffee, nice tables for keyboard warriors.
On an awesome location by the Friday harbor ferry terminal. It has pretty good cheesecake and coffee which we can enjoy outside.
Waited 30 minutes for one breakfast sandwich to go before they realized that they had forgot to even start our order. When my wife stated that she was running late and had to go before she walked out, instead of being offered a refund or something else that was already done in place of the order, she overheard an employee ask why someone would order food while waiting for a ferry. Lets think about it. You are one of the closest restaurants to the ferry station, we had 30 minutes to kill, and we simply ordered one breakfast sandwich to go. I guess those are ridiculous things to request from this place. Oh well, from most the other reviews, it sounds like the food was terrible anyway.
Order at counter place, decent prices for being on water front. Unfortunately, service is lacking and if you order something and didn't like the way it came out, forget about asking for a replacement. I got an argument without an apology. That along with the unappetizing food made me lose my appetite! I finally got my $$ back!FYI Fish Tacos are chopped up pieces of semi warm, very basic, plain, white fish(lacking any seasoning, although menu states it's seared cod), 3 street taco size corn tortillas, bent, not warm, a tiny container of salsa, tiny container of sour cream, a little bit of onion, slaw, and tomatoes all on a small dinner plate! It's BUILD YOUR OWN-- Although they don't tell you that's how it is and it's NOT on the menu that way! Very unappetizing! Blah! A terrible experience that ruined an otherwise wonderful day trip! Go somewhere else, don't waste your time or $$ or your appetite!
Pastures and cheesecake are great. Coffee is a little meh
Good music good food.
Excellent, place smells so yummy, our breakfast was perfect.
If you like cheesecake - this is the place for you. Heck, if you like Bakery goods, then this is the place for you. Unusual signs on their commodes - I was worried that I might have held the handle for 4 seconds, which is not enough, or 5 seconds, which is way too long. They need a timer in their restrooms. I had a Banana Bread Cheesecake and a white Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake - Divine! They also had delicious Macadamia Nut cookies and Reese Peanut butter, Peanut butter cookies. Excellent place to stop in after seeing the Orca's. Staff is Friendly, Helpful, and Super sweet. I think that I would have taken whatever they recommended because the place smelled delicious. Like Heaven.
Rasberry scones were incredible. Steak sandwich was dynamite. Hard working great staff. Very friendly family business. Will be going back soon
Friendly staff. Pumpkin latte was excellent - actually, all of the drinks we tried here were very good to excellent. We tried a few breads and pastries - all good. Nice view too.
Water front place with great views but mediocre and pricey cheesecakes. And the almond croissant was really stale and sad :(
If your on the water or waiting for the ferry. Go literally anywhere else. Way to expensive for what you get. The cheesecake was super old and tasted horrible. The case has some good looking cookies but when I bought one they pulled a burnt runt from behind the counter that looked nothing like the good ones in the case. They wouldn't put coffee in to-go cups. The egg on the sandwiches was slimey and undercooked.Bottom line there are plenty of other good places nearby for a quick bite. Go to them.
OK, but not great. I’ve had much better that cost a lot less, but being on the island I guess the cost is justified. I still only give it 3 stars as I was expecting much better after reading all of the nice reviews.
Good breakfast and tasty treats.
Breakfast was good, baked goods are great. Right off the ferry. Prices are on par for the island - overpriced, but what you have to do
With fabulous views of Friday Harbor Marina, this is the best spot to have a bite to eat while waiting to catch the ferry. For locals, we are grateful for this café, its delectable sweet treats, great service, ample portions and abundant table space. Come in for the double Bacon BLT stay for the wifi grab some samples and enjoy the views.
Cheesecake was good to exceptional, but the service was no-frills to mostly lacking. When the lady behind the counter asked what we wanted, I told her that we couldn't decide between two of their specialty flavors, and she stared at me blankly. After a few seconds she goes, "are you waiting for some kind of help?" Normally, in these social interactions, a worker might describe the texture, flavor, and ingredients to offer their new customers some insight or guidance; but, I guess that was not her vibe... Thus, I gave this four stars, because they offered a 4.5 star product at 5 star prices, but it came via 3 star service with an attitude, on a slow and rainy afternoon. It would not have killed her to make conversation. It wasn't like they were busy.
Nice pastries and cookies, with a view of harbour where you can wait for the ferry while enjoy a cup of coffee
Great coffee, and friendly staff. We did not sample the muffins, cookies or cheesecake, but will next time! Great iced latte on a hot day. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. This is a great first stop from the ferry.
Best cafe breakfast with a view in Friday Harbor! Great coffee, pastries, and a champion Grilled Cheese.
Casual eatery that's good for families.
Excellent tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. Will be back for sure. Very friendly staff and a perfect view of the harbor.
Big menu. Great cheesecake. Nice atmosphere.
This place is not respectful to people with disabilities. Today my family with our service animal ordered and sat down at a table inside the restaurant. The manager came up to our table and immediately told us that dogs are not allowed and was very rude toned. I told her that he was a service animal, her reply was that he must where a service vest. I offered her my ADA service animal identification card and told her his vest was in our car 4 blocks away. She not only refused to look at the ID but then said we needed to sit out on the cold and rainy deck since he wasnt wearing a vest. My husband had to walk back to the car to get the vest. Upon leaving I told her that according to the US Dept of Justice a vest is not required and requiring it to be in the restaurant is a violation of our rights. She did not apologize and dismissed my information. The food was spoiled by the mistrestment.
Good coffee, great cheesecake, comfortable atmosphere, a tireless go-getting entrepreneurial owner, and an awesome water view of the islands, marina, and the Friday Harbor ferry landing
Really amazing food! The avacado omelet was the perfect portion size and tasted great. I like how balanced the dish was as well; not too many carbs, extra fruit.
Terrific calm chowder, made to order fried fish and chips, delicious pastries and desserts. Definitely a highlight in Friday Harbor.
Great views and friendly staff. Food was good for price. All baked goods are amazing!
Looking for a quick bite. Friend had egg salad sandwich. It was huge. Another friend had a muffin. Others had a panni and apple dessert. I had clam chowder. Everyone was satisfied. Service was friendly and quick. Atmoshere was quiet.
Just wondered in while walking around, got a cheese cake and holy cow!!!!! Seriously if your around get some cheesecake here
The baked goods were tasty.
We had a beautiful breakfast looking out at the harbor and ferries. Great coffee!
Great views, unpretentious. The tea selection is great and they use eclectic mugs which gives it a very homey feel.
Just right combination of location and quality. We stopped in for coffee on a rainy Sunday morning. Good coffee and bakery items.
We were honored to be the first 2 customers to try their passion fruit cheesecake. Lovely flavor perfectly blended into the smooth, rich cheesecake. We enjoyed every bite. What a nice way to end our day stay in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island.
